2021 Alumni Reception at ASTRO presenters and award winners

The UTDRO Alumni Reception @ ASTRO 2021, held on Oct. 25, 2021, was a resounding virtual success!

Connecting with our colleagues from around the world is one of the great pleasures of ASTRO as well as many of our other conferences, and we want to ensure that those relationships stay strong. 

A big "thank you" to Dr. Laura Dawson, our UTDRO faculty and current president of ASTRO, for taking the time out of her busy ASTRO Conference schedule to join us and share her reflections. And a congratulations to Dr. David Hodgson who has been inducted as a fellow of ASTRO.

We'd also like to congratulate the 2021 UTDRO Award Winners:

  • Dr. Ali Hosni – Rising Star Award
  • Ms. Mikki Campbell – Pamela Catton Award for Inter-Professional Education and Care
  • Dr. Jennifer Kwan – Bernard J Cummings Award for Research Excellence

  • Dr. Amanda Caissie – Alumni Award

Of course, we couldn’t have done it without Drs. Fei-Fei Liu, Bernard J. Cummings, Mike Milosevic, Rebecca Wong, and Eileen Rakovitch, who presented the awards program throughout the evening. As well as the support from the UTDRO Business Office in organizing the event.

Radiation Therapists Gathered to Share the Latest Advances and Innovations in Radiation Therapy at the Annual RTi3 Conference

We are delighted to share the highlights from the recent RTi3 Conference 2024, held on March 22nd and 23rd at St. Paul’s on Bloor Street. This year's conference was a great success, bringing together nearly 170 delegates from around the world for two days of engaging discussions and knowledge sharing.

Our Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Toronto (UTDRO) and the STARS21 Program joined forces this year to showcase and celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of our residents, fellows, and graduate students in radiation science.
