Call for Nomination: RTi3 Speaker Award

The Pillar of RTi3 Speaker Award is designed to recognize an individual who represents the epitome of the three core pillars of the RTi3 Conference; the ability to inquire, to inspire, and to innovate in radiation therapy. It will be awarded to a radiation therapist who has demonstrated engagement in the RTi3 community and has contributed meaningfully to the dissemination of their chosen area of research or innovation.

A winner will be selected from the nominations and recognized at the upcoming RTi3 Conference. Conference registration, travel, and accommodations for the upcoming RTi3 Conference will be provided. In addition to receiving the award, the winner will be invited to deliver one of the three Pillar Keynote presentations at the conference. The RTi3 Organizing Committee will collaborate with the winner to identify which conference pillar aligns best with their expertise and achievements

Criteria

Mandatory

  • Must be certified as a radiation therapist.
  • This award can only be presented to an individual once during the course of their career.
  • Must be able and willing to present at the upcoming RTi3 conference.
  • RTi3 keynote speakers within the last five years are not eligible to receive this award.

Desirable

  • Has attended and presented at an RTi3 Conference within the past 5 years.
  • Has demonstrated contribution to all three RTi3 pillars: Inquire, Inspire, and Innovate.
  • Has been recognized as a speaker with recent/ongoing work that is of relevance to the RTi3 community.

Nomination and Selection Process

  • A Call for Nominations will be distributed via the RTi3 distribution lists in June of each year, with a nomination deadline in mid-August (August 15 for 2025)
  • In the event that no suitable nominations are received, the RTi3 Organizing committee reserves the right to abstain from giving out the award.
  • Nominations may be submitted online by any radiation therapist. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
  • The nomination form will include the following:
    • Name/province/contact of nominee
    • Name/province/contact of nominator
    • Evidence of how nominee has contributed to advance our radiation therapist profession under the RTi3 Pillars (Inquire, Inspire and Innovate)
    • Evidence of how the nominee has been recognized as a speaker with recent/ongoing work that is of relevance to the RTi3 community
    • Reflection on potential topics of presentation within the nominee’s purview that may be of relevance to the RTi3 community
  • Nominations will be validated and compiled by the UTDRO office and reviewed by the RTi3 Organizing Committee. Nominations will not be blinded. If an RTi3 Organizing Committee member is nominated, they will be recused from the selection process.
  • One of the RTi3 Co-Chairs will communicate the identified winner by October 1, confirming willingness to engage as a keynote speaker for the upcoming RTi3 Conference.
