Research Day 2026 Presentation Guidelines

The information below is for the 2026 UTDRO / STARS21 Research Day Presentation Guidelines, which will be held in-person on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 9 AM - 6 PM EDT.

All Presenters

  • Event registration is mandatory for all presenters. If you haven't already done so, please register for Research Day here.
  • A program schedule and venue floor plan will be shared closer to the event, including your assigned presentation time, poster viewing time, and digital poster screen locations.
  • Please review your details carefully once released and email us at radiation.oncology@utoronto.ca if any updates are required.

Oral Presentation Instructions 

  • Each oral presentation is 7 minutes total (5 minutes talk + 2 minutes Q&A). Please be mindful of time limit when planning your presentation.
  • Presenters are expected to use the Research Day Oral Presentation Template provided.
    • Please do not modify the template master formatting. However, you may add logos of your affiliation(s), include additional references, or adjust colors if needed. 
  • The template includes a Conflict of Interest Declaration slide immediately following the title slide. This slide is required and must be used to disclose any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest that may have a direct bearing on the subject matter presented. If not applicable, please indicate “Nothing to declare”.
  • Following the presentation, judges would rank the abstract, poster, and presentation. 

Submission Deadline: Friday, April 24, 2025, at 5 PM EDT.

  • Please name your presentation slides with subject:
    Research Day 2026_Oral [1/2/3/4]_Your Full Name (e.g. Research Day 2026_Oral 2_John Doe)
  • Submit your slides (in MS PowerPoint format) via email to radiation.oncology@utoronto.ca using the same subject line as your file name. 
  • Please check the program schedule (once available) for your assigned presentation time.

Poster Discussion Presentation Instructions

  • Each poster presentation is 5 minutes total (3 minutes talk + 2 minutes Q&A). Please be mindful of time when planning your presentation.
  • Presenters are expected to create a 1-slide digital poster, no printing is required.
  • Please use the Research Day poster presentation template provided.
    • Please do not add any additional slides or modify the template master formatting, e.g. readjust the title position. However, you may add logos of your affiliation(s), include additional references, or adjust colors if needed. And we would allow some flexibility to adjust/condense some of the content parts, if necessary.
  • Only one digital poster is permitted per trainee.
  • Digital posters are presented via a 55" standing monitors, aspect ratio of 16:9, 3840 x 2160 (HDMI).
  • All posters should be presented in a way that is accessible to any scientist as poster judges may not be content experts. 
  • Following the presentation, judges would rank the abstract, poster, and presentation.

  • You are expected to create a 1-slide digital poster, no printing is required.
  • Please use the Research Day poster presentation template provided.
    • Please do not add any additional slides or modify the template master formatting, e.g. readjust the title position. However, you may add logos of your affiliation(s), include additional references, or adjust colors if needed. And we would allow some flexibility to adjust/condense some of the content parts, if necessary.
