What to Expect and Learning Objectives

Creating large scale comprehensive clinical data and analytics systems promises lowering barriers to learn from each patient treated how to improve care for future patients. Working both locally and globally, over many years we are seeing results from a systematic, data aggregation driven,  approach that guide us in treating patients with de novo disease as well as those emerging for reirradiation.  In this presentation, will discuss findings and results from these efforts and how they are beginning to shape our practice. We will show how automation enabling standardizations in ontologies incorporated into infrastructures, application programming interfaces and analytics are being developed to lower barriers for participation in clinical trials and expand the range of patients reached.

Learning Objectives

  • Findings from statistical profiling and AI applications for patients treated HN or liver cancers
  • UM experience in reirradiation with outcomes, tools and data aggregation
  • Multi-professional society O3 standardizations and use in development of APIs and federated learning networks

About Dr. Charles Mayo

Dr. Mayo has over 27 years’ experience in clinical medical physics and translational research, particularly in the areas of advanced treatment planning techniques with IMRT/VMAT and in the study of normal tissue tolerances as part of the QUANTEC effort. He is an internationally recognized expert in health care informatics (infrastructure, standardizations, and analysis), application of statistical methods in treatment and outcomes modeling, automation of advanced treatment planning methods and reirradiation.
