Now Accepting Applications: STARS21 Program 2025–2026

Strategic Training in Transdisciplinary Radiation Science for the 21st Century (STARS21) is a competitive, year-long training initiative designed to develop the next generation of global leaders in translational and transdisciplinary radiation medicine. Open to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, residents, and clinical fellows, the program provides:

  • Specialized training in translational radiation science
  • Workshops in leadership, communication, and team science
  • A unique multidisciplinary learning community
  • Stipend or travel support for successful applicants
  • An opportunity to present research at the 2026 UTDRO/STARS21 Research Day in May

Application Process

Applicants must first submit a Letter of Intent (LOI). Top-ranked LOIs will be invited to submit a full application.

  • LOI Deadline: June 27, 2025, 5:00 PM (ET)
  • Notification for Full Application: Week of July 14–18, 2025
  • Full Application Deadline: August 11, 2025, 5:00 PM (ET)
  • Awards Announced: September 2025
  • Program Duration: Late September/Early October 2025 – May 2026
