Each spring we are excited to showcase and celebrate some of the great research happening across UTDRO through the submitted abstracts, oral presentations, and posters for Research Day. We are excited to co-host this event with STARS21 once again this year. It is an opportunity for faculty and trainees to discuss the findings from their research, meet with their colleagues, and expose medical students to research.
Call for Abstracts
We encourage all UTDRO residents, fellows, STARS21 and other trainees who are supervised by a UTDRO or STARS21 Faculty Member to submit an abstract.
Submission Deadline: Friday, February 27, 2026 (11:59 PM EST.)
- Abstracts must be submitted online.
- All trainees supervised by a UTDRO / STARS21 Faculty Member are eligible to submit an abstract and present at Research Day.
- Abstracts must be reviewed by the supervisor(s) prior to submission.
- Your supervisor’s name must be specified.
- Research that has been published but not presented at the Research Day can be submitted.
- All educational, clinical, translational and basic science work will be considered.
- Maximum 450-word limit.
- Format will be purpose; methods; results; conclusions.

We welcome UTDRO residents, fellows, MRS research students, STARS21 scholars, and other graduate or MD trainees supervised by a UTDRO faculty member to submit an abstract and share their work with the community.

Health and Safety
The health and safety for our attendees, partners, and sponsors remains a top priority. We appreciate your support in working with us to host a safe and successful UTDRO Research Day.
Health and Safety Measures
Face Masks
- UTDRO will comply with local guidelines and requirements at the time of the course.
- While mask wearing is currently optional in Toronto, UTDRO supports our attendees choice and will have masks available on-site for those that wish to wear one.
Symptom Monitoring
Please monitor your health and check for signs of symptoms of COVID-19. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, we ask that you notify us by email at radiation.oncology@utoronto.ca, and refrain from attending the course.
On-Site Health and Safety Measures
Our venue, St. George Campus at the University of Toronto, is committed to providing a clean, safe, and healthy event space for the safety and well-being of their guests and employees.
Monitoring of Health and Safety Recommendations
UTDRO will monitor local health and safety recommendations and will update these protocols based on the current conditions at the time of the course, if necessary.
All attendees agree to comply with the most up to date version of the Research Day Health and Safety Policies.
COVID-19 Waiver and Assumption of Risk
All attendees who register to attend Research Day acknowledge that they are aware of the inherent risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Attendees voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 when attending the Research Day and WAIVE LIABILITY against UTDRO, its organizers, employees, contractors, venue and volunteers for any loss, damages or suffering related to exposure to COVID-19.

Event Photo and Video Release
By attending the Research Day, you grant UTDRO permission to use your name and likeness and your statements about the conference and events in photographs, videos, advertising, social media, or any other type of promotional material, unless you revoke this permission in writing to UTDRO.
