I completed my undergraduate education in the University of Toronto with a double major in Human Biology Health and Disease and Biology. I am currently in the Michener/University of Toronto studying Nuclear Medicine. Hobbies I enjoy doing is Dragon Boat, Weight Lifting, Cooking, Singing, Running, as well as Socializing! In terms of extracurricular and work I am currently involved as a Coach within the University College Dragon Boat Club (UCDBC), a Tenor in New College's Acapella Choir New Resonance, the Nuclear Medicine Student Representative , an Orientation Chair in Michener's Orientation Week 2016-2017, as well as an associate to the Vice-President of Campus Life in the University of Toronto Student Union.

What and where did you study before joining MRS?

University of Toronto, Double Majoring in Human Biology Health and Disease and Biology.

What attracted you to the MRS program?

What attracted me to the MRS program is the practical skills that I would learn from the program. I believe that through this program one would gain the skills and knowledge needed to excel wherever they are within their Healthcare setting and for that I am extremely fortunate to have been accepted in this program.

How is MRS different from your previous university experience?

MRS is different from my previous university experience in the sense that all my courses are connected to one another. Everything I learn in one course would help me understand the theory behind another course. The practical skills I learn also directly transfer to the clinical setting which is extremely useful when I'm working at the hospital.

Once you decided to pursue this field, why did you choose to study with us?

I believe that this institute would provide me with the highest quality of education possible so that I may excel within my clinical setting, and for that I believe I made the right choice by choosing this program specifically.

What do you like best about the program?

What I like best about this program is is how practical the education is. Everything you learn here you can take to where you work in the future, and I believe that is so important when learning in an educational institution. All the skills you learn here and all the tests you take will be applicable to your clinical site when you get there in the future.

What are your plans for after graduation?

My plans for after graduation is to get a job as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist while also continuing to pursue Medical School specializing in General Surgery.

Are you involved in extracurricular activities (clubs or sports) at U of T or Michener?

I am heavily involved within extracurricular activities within the University setting. This would include being a Tenor within the New College A Capella Choir New Resonance, the Scholar's Chair in the University of Toronto International Health Program, the Nuclear Medicine Student Representative, as well as a Coach in the University College Dragon Boat Club. Previously I was also President of the Culinary Arts Club in U of T as well as Social Director of New College at U of T. In terms of work I am currently an Associate of the Vice-President Campus Life at the University of Toronto Student Union, an Orientation Chair in Michener's 2016-2017 Orientation Week, and a certified Personal Trainer. My biggest passion overall would have to be coaching my Dragon Boat club as I plan to race internationally someday within this sport. Learning the mechanics of the sport as well as meeting the amazing people I have in this team definitely contributed into making me the person I am today, and for that I am truly grateful!

What advice do you have for prospective students who are considering the program/profession?

The advice I have for prospective students considering the program is to definitely apply if you are passionate in working in healthcare. I believe this program provides amazing opportunities for clinical experience as well as work that is extremely hard to find within educational institutes. After one year in this program I have learnt so much and can definitely say I am excited for what the future has in store for me in the healthcare setting.

Where is your clinical placement?
