Poster Presentation Instructions

There are two requirements for Poster Presenters - (1) Rapidfire Presentation and a (2) Virtual Poster Room.

1. Rapidfire Presentation

  • Each speaker will have a maximum of 1 minute for their presentation, which is to include the main takeaway about their project. Consider this your elevator pitch for your Virtual Poster Room.
  • Presenters are expected to use this 1-slide Research Day Rapidfire Poster Template. Please do not add additional pages or information.
    • Please do not adjust the template in any way.
    • The description has to fit 2 lines of text in 24 point font size in the space provided in the template (do not just the text box).
    • This should be your key takeaway message.
  • Your MS PowerPoint slide due date is May 11, 2022. Please submit your slide by email to with SUBJECT: Research Day Presentation - Poster Slide - Your Name (e.g. Research Day Presentation - Poster Slide - Ishir Patel).
  • Once slides are submitted, they will be "stitched" together for each Rapid Fire Section into one slide deck and advanced by an AV Tech. Please note, you will not have access to the notes field in the PPT. If you need notes, please have a separate document prepared, either printed or on a second screen.

2. Virtual Poster Room

  • Each presenter will be given their own Zoom Breakout Room for a 1-hour period between 3pm - 4pm EDT. You're expected to be present for the entire hour. Faculty and your pre-assigned judges will drop by to visit your breakout room to ask questions about your research and evaluate your digital poster.
  • Please prepare a 1-page digital poster on a single PPT slide to screenshare for the duration of the Virtual Poster Room session.
  • Please be mindful of font size and ensure it is legible as visitors to your poster room will be viewing it from their personal monitors.
  • You do not need to pre-submit your slide for the Virtual Poster Room.
