Congratulations to Winnie Li on receiving the 2016 Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) Research Grant for her proposal titled “Frame-based versus Frame-less Immobilization for Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery: Patient Perspective.”
The CAMRT is the largest professional association of Radiation Technologists in Canada. The Association awards its annual Research Grant to a member who is conducting research.
Winnie is a Lecturer at UT-DRO and a Radiation Therapist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. She told UT-DRO that she is very excited and thankful to receive this grant. “This novel proposal will have a great impact on our patients as we explore the immobilization choices now available with Perfexion Icon,” she explained. “This study will inform patient preference for SRS immobilization devices with similar treatment accuracy, and impact staff and future patient education.”
