Recent Achievements by UT DRO Trainees

Congratulations to the following trainees on their recent achievements. These individuals are helping to establish UT DRO as a leader in our field. Our congratulations to all.

Alireza Fotouhi Ghiam
Alireza's study, "Genomic Instability in Common Fragile Sites (CFSs) is Associated with Less Favorable Outcome in Patients with Intermediate-Risk Prostate Cancer (IR-CaP)," was highlighted in the Press Program for ASTRO's 55th Annual Meeting in Atlanta. Well done Alireza!

The Faculty of Medicine's Postgraduate Awards Committee awarded UT DRO resident Alireza Fotouhi Ghiam two awards: The Joseph M. West Memorial Fund, and The Timeposters Fellowship Award. These two awards were granted for Alireza's project titled "Recurrent Prostate Cancer (CaP) Following Radiotherapy is Clonal", which he is working on under the supervision of Dr. Rob Bristow.

This August, all five candidates to the final exam of the physics residency program have passed and now have successfully completed the program.

Danielle Rodin
UICC has awarded Danielle a grant for the purpose of the UICC Young Leaders Initiative at the 2013 World Cancer Leaders’ Summit.

Alejandro Berlin
Alejandro Berlin has won a Merit Award for the upcoming ASCO 2014 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium.
