Recent Achievements by UT DRO Trainees

Congratulations to the following trainees on their recent achievements. These individuals are helping to establish UT DRO as a leader in our field. Our congratulations to all.

Adam Gladwish
Congratulations to Adam Gladwish, a EIRR21 scholar, for winning a Resident Digital Poster Discussion Award in the Physics category for his abstract titled “Technical Factors affecting Apparent Diffusion Coefficient in Women with Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer” from ASTRO. Adam will receive his award at ASTRO's 2014 Annual Meeting. Also, congratulations to his supervisors Drs. Kathy Han and Warren Foltz.


Kate Barrett
Congratulations to Kate Barrett, who has also won an ASTRO 2014 Annual Meeting Abstract Award. Kate's abstract titled “Genetic Polymorphisms Associated with Toxicity are Associated with Overall Survival Following Curative Radiation for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer” has been selected as the second place winner of the Resident Poster Viewing Award in the Biology category. In addition, congratulations to Kate's supervisor, Dr. Andrew Hope.

Danielle Rodin
Danielle has recently first-authored a commentary in the Lancet Oncology titled "The need to expand global access to radiotherapy." Well done, Danielle!

Alireza Fotouhi Ghiam 
Alireza was recently awarded the Postgraduate Medical Trainee Leadership Award by the Faculty of Medicine at U of T. This award recognizes the outstanding initiatives and contribution to the program by trainees. Well done, Ali!

Fatima Alfaraj, Goldie Kurtz and Julia Skliarenko 
Congratulations to these PGY5 residents on successfully passing the final Royal College Examination in Radiation Oncology.
