Our award-winning Clinical and Experimental Radiobiology course, spanning five days, unfolded at the University of Toronto's (UofT) St. George Campus from April 15th to 19th, with a final exam on April 26th. Drawing nearly 100 learners from various sectors, including UTDRO trainees, UofT students, and attendees from external programs, it showcased a diverse mix of local talent alongside international scholars from the US, UK, Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong.
Led by the course director, Dr. Marianne Koritzinsky (Associate Professor) and a team of internationally renowned educators, the course featured 15 esteemed UTDRO faculty and two distinguished external faculty - Dr. Michael Joiner (Wayne State University, Detroit, MI) and Dr. Albert van der Kogel (University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, WI). Regrettably, both will be stepping down from their roles next year after dedicating over 15 years of service to the Radiobiology course. In recognition of their unwavering commitment, we honored them with the prestigious UTDRO Award for Outstanding Contributions to Radiobiology Education during the course's conclusion.
