Announcement: Director of Clinical Affairs, Dr. Eileen Rakovitch

We are delighted to announce a new leadership role within UTDRO - Director of Clinical Affairs, which will be held by Dr. Eileen Rakovitch, effective September 1, 2020.

 

The Director of Clinical Affairs will be reporting to the Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs (Dr. Shun Wong), and supporting this portfolio for Academic Appointments, Continuing Appointments, Reappointments, and Promotions. These are important activities within our department, by cultivating our faculty to become internationally recognized researchers, clinicians, and teachers. 

 

Dr. Rakovitch is a Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto, a highly-respected clinician and scientist at the Odette Cancer Centre, and a Senior Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. She is the holder of the L.C. Campbell Endowed Chair in Breast Cancer Research at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, the Head of the Breast program at Sunnybrook, and the Medical Director of the Louise Temerty Breast Cancer Centre. Dr. Rakovitch is also the co-Chair of the Canadian Clinical Trials Group Breast Cancer Executive, which leads and contributes to clinical trials improving the treatment of breast cancer. She is also dedicated to teaching students, residents and fellows across the educational continuum.
