UT DRO representation at the European Cancer Congress 2013

The European Cancer Congress 2013 (ECC 2013) was held in Amsterdam from Sept 27 – Oct 1, 2013 by ECCO in partnership with ESTRO, ESMO, ESSO, EACR, EONS and SIOPE. A record number of participants from over 100 countries attended this multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary meeting. With the meeting theme of “Reinforcing multidisciplinarity”, the program and meeting activities highlighted the strengths and contributions of each discipline, specialty and area of research in the mission to improve cancer care globally.

Amidst the 5 days of exciting presentations highlighting novel discoveries and innovative approaches to cancer care, members of UT DRO took the podium at a number of oral sessions: Brad Wouters presented “In vitro and In vivo discovery of novel therapeutic targets using functional genomics”, Marianne Koritzinskypresented “Reprogramming metabolism with metformin improves tumor oxygenation and radiation response” and Laura Dawson presented “Therapeutic procedures in liver metastases: SBRT for which patients?”

In addition, Brian O’Sullivan was the session chair for the sarcoma session.
