Lisa Di Prospero receives one of CAMRT’s top honours

At the CAMRT Annual General Conference, Lisa Di Prospero was recognized with one of the Association’s highest honours. Lisa, an Assistant Professor at UT-DRO and a Professional Leader in the Radiation Therapy Department and a Manager of Research and Education at the Odette Cancer Centre, was invited to be this year’s Welch Memorial Lecturer.

The Welch Memorial Lecture recognizes members who have contributed to their profession in exceptional ways and impacted clinical practice, education, research and administration.

Lisa was selected for this role following her efforts to enhance academic practice in radiation therapy while integrating practice, education, research, advanced practice and leadership. Lisa has also been instrumental in positioning the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences (JMIRS) as the top medical radiation sciences journal for clinicians.

Lisa told UT-DRO that she is humbled to receive this title and to be recognized by her interdisciplinary colleagues. “This award puts my name next to highly esteemed individuals who have previously given this lecture,” she added.

Lisa has already started thinking of her lecture. “I am thinking of a topic along the lines of passion, resilience and courage, especially as I focus my own professional development on leadership and leading, coaching and mentoring others.”
