Internal Seed-Grant Results

The results of the first UT DRO internal seed-grant were announced at the Annual General Meeting in November. The department received several excellent applications, and appreciates the calibre of work that is taking place across the department. After much deliberation, the grant committee is proud to announce the winners of the first UT DRO internal seed-grant competition:

  • May Tsao (Odette Cancer Centre) and Caroline Chung (Princess Margaret Cancer Centre)The Toronto Brief Neurocognitive Battery (BNB): Development of a novel brief telephone battery for neurocognitive assessment of patients with brain metastases
  • Mark Ruschin (Odette Cancer Centre), Tom Purdie (Princess Margaret Cancer Centre), Beibei Zhang (Southlake Regional Cancer Centre)
Prospective collection of tolerance outcomes in women receiving breast cancer radiotherapy: A Multi-institutional initiative

Congratulations to both teams!

The internal seed-grant competition was created to encourage collaborative research and innovation in radiation medicine. Each year, two seed-grants worth $62,500 are awarded to faculty members. Thank you to our partners as this competition would not have been possible without the financial support of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Odette Cancer Centre, and Southlake Regional Health Centre.
