Dr. Barbara-Ann Millar is the 2016-2017 recipient of the Colin Woolf Award for Excellence in Teaching offered through the Faculty of Medicine’s Continuing Professional Development Office. There are eight annual awards in continuing education that recognize excellence in research, scholarship, innovation, teamwork and long term commitment to continuing education for faculty at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine.
The Colin Woolf Award for Excellence in Teaching is named in honour of Dr. Woolf, a chest physician, who came to the University of Toronto after training in South Africa and the UK. He created the Respiratory Failure Unit at the Toronto General Hospital in the 1960s, also known as the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Criteria for the award selection include teaching methods, subject mastery, ability to stimulate learners, commitment and effectiveness.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Millar on her achievement.
