UT-DRO faculty captures 50% of 2016 AbbVie - CARO Uro-Oncologic Radiation Awards (ACURA)

In July, UT-DRO faculty members successfully captured 50% of the 2016 AbbVie - CARO Uro-Oncologic Radiation Awards (ACURA).

Congratulations to Tim Craig, Patrick Cheung, Alejandro Berlin and PGY2 resident Rachel Glicksman, as well as their co-investigators and research teams.

In a press release, Dr. Fabio Cury of McGill University and Advisory Group Chair, explained, “The ACURA awards help Canadian radiation oncologists push their science to a higher level and, in many cases, secure more funding from other sources for future research. Clearly, there is still much work to be done in enhancing care and it’s very exciting to see firsthand all of the research submissions.”

Dr. Timothy Craig received funding for "Adaptive Radiation Therapy in Postoperative Management of High-Risk Prostate Cancer"

Dr. Patrick Cheung recieved funding for "Randomized Feasibility Trial of Prostate Radiotherapy vs Prostatectomy in Men with Hormone Sensitive Oligometastatic Prostate Cancer"

Dr. Rachel Glicksman and Co-Investigator Dr. Alejandro Berlin received funding for "[18F]DCFPyL PET/MRI for Personalizing Prostate Cancer Subclinical Metastatic Ablative MR-guided RadioTherapy: a pilot study (PSMA MRgRT)"

Dr. Alejandro Berlin received funding for "Focal MRI-Guided and Genomics-Driven High-Dose-Rate Brachytherapy (HDR) as a Monotherapy for Localized Prostate Cancer: a Pilot Study"
