RTi3 2026 Brings the Community Together for Two Days of Learning and Growth
On March 27–28, 2026, UTDRO successfully hosted another year of the RTi3 Conference, Canada’s premier radiation therapy conference. Held at St. Paul’s on Bloor, the event welcomed nearly 200 delegates for two days of insightful discussions, knowledge exchange, and professional development.
This year’s conference was co-chaired by Madette Galapin (Odette Cancer Centre) and Yat Tsang (UTDRO & Princess Margaret Cancer Centre), who led a dedicated team of radiation therapists from across Canada in developing a dynamic and impactful program.
RTi3 2026 featured nearly 60 oral and poster presentations from researchers across Canada and the United States. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including Treatment Planning and Adaptive Therapy, Advancing Practice, Training and Professional Development, Patient Experience and Supportive Care, and Treatment Delivery and Quality Operations - highlighting the ongoing innovation and curiosity within our community.
We were pleased to welcome keynote speakers Marcia Smoke (Inquire), Amanda Bolderston (Inspire), Aileen Duffton (Innovate), and Joda Kuk (Inter-professional), along with three top-ranked abstract presenters. Together, they showcased the continued advancement of radiation therapy through inquiry, innovation, and leadership.
“Pillar talks were excellent - good variety and represented topics of interest and importance to our community.”

To support and inspire emerging professionals, the conference also included a student presentation session and a dedicated student panel discussion. We were also delighted to once again host the National Innovation Snapshot, sponsored by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, showcasing creative and impactful initiatives from eight radiation therapists across the country.
A particularly meaningful part of the conference was hearing from three patient speakers who generously shared their personal experiences. Their stories offered important reminders of the human perspective behind our work and the value of patient-centered care in everyday practice.
