Congratulations to our 2026-27 Hold’em for Life Oncology Fellowship Program Trainees

Trainees
Congrats to our 2026-27 Hold’em for Life Oncology Fellowship Program trainees

Please join us in congratulating the 2026-2027 recipients of the Hold’em for Life Oncology Fellowship Program:

  • Radiation Oncology Resident: Alec Hughes (Supervisor: Andrew McPartlin)
  • Clinical Fellows: Isaac Kong (Supervisor: Ian Poon), Rawy Shaaban (Supervisor: Kathy Han), and Suman Gopal Ghosh (Supervisor: Gregory Czarnota).

Through the Hold’em for Life Fellowship Program, these exceptional trainees will each receive $50,000 in funding to support their oncology research projects, advancing innovation and excellence in cancer care. Established through a landmark $16.4 million commitment to the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine and its partner teaching hospitals, the program supports approximately 40 fellows annually.

This investment plays a vital role in sustaining Toronto’s position as a global leader in cancer research, education, and clinical care. UTDRO looks forward to the meaningful contributions of these trainees as they work to improve patient outcomes and help shape the future of oncology.
