New Interim Director, Practice Based Research at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

Congratulations to Lisa Di Prospero who is the new Interim Director, Practice Based Research and Innovation at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science (Molecular Biology) from McMaster University and graduated from the Toronto-Sunnybrook School of Radiation Therapy. She joined the Odette Cancer Program in 2010 as the Manager of Education and Research. In this role she was responsible for advancing the academic practice of the radiation therapists. This included providing mentorship to junior clinicians and novice researchers. She has also authored a number of articles as well as presented her research both nationally and internationally. Since 2013, she has served as the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences, an international peer-reviewed journal. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Associate Member of the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto. Lisa has been instrumental in providing corporate leadership to the Falls Prevention and Smoking Cessation best practice initiatives. Finally, since 2015, she has served as the Professional Leader for Radiation Therapy.

In her new role as Interim Director of Practice Based Research and Innovation, she will report to Ru Taggar, Vice President, Quality and Patient Safety, Chief Nursing and Health Professions Executive and Dr. Michael Julius, Vice President of Research to continue to advance the Practice Based Research portfolio.
